How To Not Overpack For Your Next Trip, Keeping it Light but Cute

The hardest thing is to narrow down my outfits on a trip. Having a capsule wardrobe can solve this problem. It’s so hard to pack lightly, I change multiple times a day, and you want me to pack light?! Having a different outfit a day is so mandatory for me. Starting with one shirt for four different outfits is a start. Summer outfits I can fit more in my bag since they are so light, but when winter trip comes along it does seem impossible for me. Basic neutral colors are helpful to follow. It is possible to have a basic t-shirt and style it in three different ways. Wearing that bulky or baggy piece of clothing on the plane can save you stress and help you save room in your bag. Having a cute airport fit is a different story haha. Neutral colors like black, white, beige, or all super easy colors to pair with anything. Adding layers is where that outfit will come together AND having a cute jacket on top of that will be the icing on the cake. My flaw in packing is bringing five different pairs of jeans and five different pairs of shirts…instead, pack a limited number of shirts and pants where you can reuse those apparel pieces for multiple uses. I’ve had to make sacrifices to survive the personal item and carry on life sadly. I’m the definition of high maintenance…I have researched and found the perfect basic tees and clothes to fulfill that capsule wardrobe on-a-trip look. Adding accessories is a little somethin somethin I can add to complete the look entirely…

Finding your style is significant in packing light. I  want pieces that match multiple outfits. If I bring a pink shirt, I want to be sure it matches my other pieces of clothing. Unless I want to bring that extra piece of clothing in my bag, but I’m not trying to be high maintenance… I have to choose the journey wisely.

With the right luggage, my clothes can fit spaciously in a suitcase. With enough space and the right bag, I can organize my accessories, skincare, hair products, and clothes all in the same place. I can be efficient with bringing less luggage.

  1. 3 piece set
  2. Duffel bag
  3. carry on
  4. suitcase
  5. skincare travel bag
  6. hair travel bag
  7. compartments for suitcase

The basics you need:

The colors I continue to go back to are neutral colors, which are black, beige, white, and gray. BUT there are times when I find a lavender shirt or a colored shirt an extra little something I bring along that matches fine with my other outfits. I need to be more relaxed to the basic neutral colors. I like to change up my colors for the seasons of the year.

Three shirts, two pants, one jacket, and one pair of shoes can easily last me more than three days wearing multiple outfits. If you like me and want to be cute and comfortable, bringing sweats is possible. My limit is two pairs of pants, I usually bring a stylish pair of pants that match my other outfit, and of course, sweats, because this girl needs to be comfortable.

Planning ahead…

Checking the weather is SOO important: the times I packed for summer and it snowed, it’s awful. Always check the forecast because the weather changes all the time. I like being prepared, and I don’t want to look like I’m heading to the beach when there is snow on the ground…
